How it works
Direct Media Desk checks one HTTPS link that you are allowed to save. It does not claim every public website, and it does not remove DRM, logins, paywalls, or captchas.
Paste a single address. The application trims it, rejects user names, unexpected ports, and private or reserved targets, then matches the host to an administrator allowlist. A direct MP4, WebM, Ogg, MP3, M4A, or WAV file on an approved file host is confirmed with a short header request. The bytes stay on that host. This server does not proxy, store, or remux the video.
A public HTML page is read only when its host is approved. The parser looks at video and source tags, Open Graph video tags, and public JSON-LD. It keeps a link only when that link is itself an approved direct file. If the page does not expose one, the result is metadata only.
An unencrypted HLS or DASH manifest on an approved host can be read so its variants are listed. The playlist address is returned to the browser. Segments are not downloaded or merged here, and the result is not described as an MP4. Encrypted or DRM manifests are rejected.
YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X addresses can be recognized. They stay off the public list because those services do not provide a permitted direct file to this installer. A title from a public oEmbed response is not a download. An optional external processor is not required and stays disabled until an operator configures one.
When a file is ready you receive a short-lived grant. Opening it checks your session again and then redirects to the validated host. Someone who already knows the file address may still be able to request it until that host withdraws it. The grant only controls the door on this website.
